Pool Rules & Regulations

1.  The Pool may only be used in accordance with the provisions of these Pool Rules.
 
2.   The Pool may only be used on the days during the summer swimming season when it is approved by the Board to be open.
 
3.   Children who are not potty trained:
  - Must wear disposable diapers made especially for use in pools while in the baby pool.
  - May not use the main Pool.
 
4.   The Pool will generally be open between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, though the Pool may only be open on weekends between the Memorial Day weekend and the last day of school for the Downingtown School District, as the Pool schedule follows the schedule of the Downingtown School District.

 

5.   Except when it is closed due to bad weather conditions, the Pool may be used on weekdays between 12 noon and 8 p.m. (adult swim 7:30 to 8 p.m.), and on weekends & holidays between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

 

6.   No Owner or Resident, nor their guest, is permitted in, nor to use, the Pool when it is not open for use.

 

7.   Only Owners and current Residents of Rhondda who live at Rhondda and their guests may use the Pool.

 

8.   All Owners and Residents, as well as their guests, are also required to comply with the Association’s posted Pool rules.

 

9.   All Owners and Residents, as well as their guests, who use the Pool are required to comply with the instructions of the life guard and/or the staff of the Association.

 

10.  Pool Identification Badges issued 2012 or later must be presented at the gate by every Owner or Resident who wishes to use the Pool.

 

11.  Pool Identification Badges must be presented at the gate by every person who wishes to bring a guest into the Pool. A resident must accompany guests to the pool to check in. A resident does not need to stay with guests, but at least one of the remaining guests must be 21.

 

12.  Pool Identification Badge

          - Forms and information may be obtained in the manager’s office;
          - Information is also published in the monthly rosters for March - July;
          - Forms can be obtained at the gate when the management office is closed;
          - Will not be issued at the gate.

 

13.  Pool Identification Badges will not be issued to an Owner, nor to any Resident of an Owner’s dwelling, if any fine or assessment levied against an Owner’s Lot remains unpaid for a period of thirty (30) days or more.

 

14.  Pool Identification Badges will not be honored if any fine or assessment levied against the Lot occupied by the person who holds the Pool Identification Badge remains unpaid for a period of thirty (30) days or more.

 

15.  Every person who wishes to use the Pool must stop and sign the sign-in sheets located at the pool gate.

 

16.  An Owner or Resident must sign in their guests.

 

17.  A Guest Fee in an amount to be set each season by the Board must be paid before a guest may be admitted to the Pool.

 

18.  Not more than three (3) guests per adult Owner or Resident per day are allowed at the pool due to the limited area without prior approval from the Office Manager during regular Office hours.

 

19.  An Owner or Resident who brings a guest to the Pool is responsible for their guest, and for their guest’s full and prompt compliance with all Pool Rules and Regulations.

 

20.  All Owners, Residents and their guests who wish to use the Pool must park in the lot adjacent to the pool area. Please be aware of small children at all times.

 

21.  Rhondda has handicapped parking available close to the pool area.

 

22.  Do not park on or block the fire lane, entrances, path to the outback, or employee spaces.

 

23.  The Pool will not open if the temperature is below 70.

 

24.  The Pool will be closed if it is raining.

 

25.  The Pool will be closed when thunder is heard, or when lightning is seen, and the Pool will not reopen until at least 30 minutes has passed with no thunder being heard and no lightning being seen.

 

26.  Food and beverages are permitted in the Pool area.

 

27.  All food and beverages in the Pool area must be in unbreakable containers.

 

28.  No glass or breakable food or beverage containers, including baby bottles, are permitted in the Pool area for safety purposes.

 

29.  No alcoholic beverages are permitted in the Pool area during regular operating hours.

 

30.  No alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the Pool area during regular operating hours.

 

31.  Trash must be placed in the available containers.

 

32.  Gum may not be chewed in the pool area.

 

33.  All persons who use the Pool must wear regular swim wear, no cut-offs may be worn in the Pool.

 

34.  T-shirts may be worn in the Pool to prevent sunburn.

 

35.  Parents are responsible for the supervision and safety of their children using the Pool and the baby pool.

 

36.  The baby pool is for use only by children under the age of 7.

 

37.  Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the main pool unless accompanied by an adult.

 

38.  Infant toys are permitted in the baby pool, but no infant toys smaller than a tennis ball may be used in the baby pool, as they could become caught in the filter.

 

39.  For their own health and safety, all children under the age of 12 at the Pool, must be accompanied by an adult.

 

40.  Children age 12 and over,

          - Upon passing a Rhondda swim test, can be admitted to the Pool without an adult, but parents will remain responsible for their children’s conduct;
          - Must bring their Pool Identification Badge and their Green Swim Test Tag to the pool to be admitted without an adult.

 

41.  Swim tests are given to all children 15 and younger who wish to use the Pool.

 

42.  Swim tests will be given by the lifeguard or another person designated by the Board to give swim tests.

 

43.  Children awarded a Green Badge may be anywhere in the Pool.

 

44.  Children awarded a Yellow Badge may only be in the main area of the Pool. They are not permitted past the rope into the diving area.

 

45.  Children awarded a Red Badge may only be in the Pool if they are in close proximity to a parent or care giver.

 

46.  When at the Pool all children age 15 and younger must wear their swim test badge at all times.

 

47.  Children may be retested to progress to the next skill level.

 

48.  No Pets are permitted in the Pool area.

 

49.  No Pets may be tied to the Pool gate or fence.

 

50.  No bicycles, tricycles, skateboards, scooters, roller skates, or roller blades are allowed in the pool area due to the limited space and for safety reasons.

 

51.  Bicycles may be placed in the rack which is available outside the pool gate. Bicycles should be locked.

 

52.  Inner tubes, rafts, water toys, and noodles which are being used in a safe and considerate manner are permitted in the main pool at the discretion of the attending lifeguards.

53.  Children accompanied by a parent or care giver may wear water wings and life jackets in the Pool.

 

54.  All persons who use the Pool are required to act in a manner which is considerate of all those other persons who may be using the Pool.

 

55.  No abusive or profane language may be used at or in the Pool.

 

56.  No running, rough housing, dunking, pushing or aggressive games or conduct is permitted at or in the Pool.

 

57.  The lifeguards are charged with maintaining acceptable safety and conduct standards for the welfare of Rhondda residents and guests who may use the Pool.

 

58.  Individuals whose break any Pool Rule may be directed by the lifeguards to leave the pool area.

 

59.  Individuals who repeatedly violate any Pool Rule may have their Pool Identification Badge and their privilege to use the Pool revoked.

 

60.  All accidents or injuries which occur within the Pool or the Pool area, even minor ones, are to be reported immediately to one of the lifeguards on duty.

 

61.  Admission to the Pool may be refused to any person having any infectious disease, skin lesions, open or bleeding wounds, sore or inflamed eyes, cold, nasal, or ear discharge, or communicable disease of any kind.

 

62.  These Rules may be amended, changed, revised, withdrawn or supplemented, in part or in whole, by the Board at any time.

 

63.  All amendments, changes, revisions, withdrawals or supplements to the Rules will be published to the Owners, and will be binding upon the owners immediately upon publication.
